& On The Ice Skating School!

Our skating school welcomes new students year-round into our nationally-affiliated Learn to Skate program.

As a member program of Learn to Skate USA®, our Learn to Skate program follows the only curriculum endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, and US Speedskating.

Our certified instructors guide our Learn to Skate students through the fundamental skills of ice skating. As students progress through each level, they develop the balance, strength, and control needed for further specialized instruction, or to simply feel more comfortable on the ice!

We have classes appropriate for kids as young as 3, through adults of all ages!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

SNOWPLOW SAM 1-4

Ages 3-6

The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help the preschool-age skater develop preliminary coordination and strength necessary to maneuver on the ice. Snowplow Sam is a big, fuzzy, white bear who loves to skate. Time with Snowplow Sam will allow preschool children to become comfortable on the ice. Helmets required for skaters under age 6. LTS USA Helmet Tutorial click here. Klick Lewis Arena runs Snowplow Sam classes in both regular LTS and Ice Tykes Series.

BASIC SKILLS 1-6

Ages 6-13

The Basic Skills are the fundamentals of the sport. These six levels of the program introduce the fundamental moves: forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, three turns and Mohawks. Upon completion of the Basic 1-8 levels, skaters will have the basic knowledge of the sport, enabling them to advance to the more specialized areas of skating. Ice skating is fun and healthy exercise that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.  "Learn to Skate" programs are designed to introduce skating at any age and start at any level!  The classes are the pre-cursor to learning to play the exciting game of ice hockey or to figure skate or to recreational skate!

ADULT BASIC SKILLS 1-4

Ages 14+

The Adult curriculum is designed for both beginning and experienced adult skaters who wish to improve their skating skills. Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. This is an exciting program for people who look to skating as an enjoyable part of a fit and healthy lifestyle.

HOCKEY SKATE SKILLS

Ages 6+ (younger ages go to Snowplow Sam)

Hockey Badges 1-4 prepare hockey players with the skate skills to proceed to Learn to Play Hockey!
