Youth Learn to Play Hockey

The "Learn to Play Hockey" program builds skills in hockey, teaches rules, and is a great introduction to a sport that is gaining popularity. Basic skating skills (forward, backwards, stopping, turns) are REQUIRED so the skater can focus on hockey techniques such as stick handling, passing, and shooting. There are also small games and scrimmages to apply learned skills.  Full equipment required to participate in the class. Complimentary skate rental is available for class. Our Learn to Skate programs provide the skating instruction to prepare for these classes.

Basic skating skills required! All players wishing to register must have completed and passed Learn to Skate Hockey Badges 1 and 2 or be evaluated by the hockey director to prior to registering. If a player does not meet the basic skating requirements they can be asked to return to a Learn to Skate program for additional training.
